The Illinois State Board of Education has recognized Oak Lawn Hometown District 123 for their careful planning and budget prioritizing. This year our district has received “Financial Recognition” status from the state board of education. The Illinois State Board of Education acknowledges the District’s achievement in this area as a significant accomplishment.
“We (District 123) has been awarded this designation for the past three school years in a row, and it reflects the commitment of the school board to maintain strong finances side by side strong academic programming and high student expectations,” said Dr. Michael Loftin, Assistant Superintendent for Business.
Approximately 2/3 of Illinois districts earn the financial recognition designation from the Illinois School Board of Education each year.
